Hamid Zilani Khatri is a young master craftsman specialized in Bagh Print, an old and traditional hand block print,craft unique to the Indian State of Madhya Pradesh. He learned the art of Bagh Print from his father late Abdul Kadar Khatri, a national and international award-winning master craftsman known for his exquisite Bagh Printing who saved the tradition of Textile printing of Bagh from extinction and took it to new heights. His artifacts have brought laurels to India and particular to Madhya Pradesh state from across the globe by showcasing his exceptional talent in Bagh Print in many countries.

His family has been working in the trade of Traditional Bagh Hand Block print since many generations. Hamid Zilani Khatri and his brothers Arif, Mohammed and Mohammed Ali carry on their father’s legacies, working for the development and promotion of traditional Bagh Print.

Hamid along with his brothers are extremely proud of their history and printing tradition. They believe they have a responsibility to remain faithful to their line of work and the specific identity associated with it.

In spite of challenges the Khatri family has carefully preserved the designs and printing blocks and did not lose faith in their traditional craft.
